Black Friday Tips

by Joe on November 26, 2009

For what it’s worth, here is my tips for “Black Friday” shopping.

blackfriday.info has most all the deals from all the top stores listed and organized.

Tips:

  • BE COURTEOUS. Smile at fellow shoppers and store clerks.  A simple thank you will go along way too.   You’ll look like a real jerk if you go pushing and shoving to get the last $5 memory card on the shelf, so play nice.
  • BEWARE of “door buster” deals.  More often than not I have found that these items are striped down and while there can be some good deals, many items are priced cheap for a reason and that reason is to get you in the door and sell you something at regular price.
  • BE ORGANIZED.  Know what your going for so you can get in and get out.  Don’t impulse shop.  If you do you’ll ruin the deal.  If you have multiple stores to gouge you’ll need to make the most of your time.
  • BE PATIENT. If you missed the deal of a lifetime, don’t sweat it.  I have found that a lot of items stay the same price once Black Friday is history.  If the stuff you want does go back to regular it won’t be long until it’s replaced with a new model and can be found discounted.
  • LOCK YOUR DOORS.  Keeping your packages out of sight and you doors locked will help ensure that you make it back home with everything you bought.
  • SHOP ONLINE.  You can find the same or better deals online in comfort of  your home.  Like you, I know people that just enjoy getting up at a time most folks don’t even know exist; I’ve done it myself.  I usually miss the awesome stuff though.

I hope you’ve found these tips helpful.  Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping.
