Avatar IMAX 3D Movie Review

by Eric on December 18, 2009

This Avatar Movie Review originally appeared on 3D TV Source and is being republished here in its entirety for the convenience of Tech Tilt readers.

Neytiri - Avatar Movie

Talk about an anticipated release… It’s been a decade and a half since James Cameron originally conceived this movie and realized that the technology didn’t exist to make the film.  After more than 4 years in production, the film was finally released for the public to behold tonight at 12:01 AM.  I was there wearing 3D glasses in front of an IMAX screen to see what all the fuss was about.

Behind the Scenes on Avatar w/ James Cameron

by Eric on December 3, 2009

I really can’t wait to see Avatar.  This behind the scenes spot from Fox Movie Channel on Hulu really shows off some of the tedious work that went into the film.   It’s really amazing stuff.

It makes me look even more forward to the Blu-ray release for all the behind the scenes content that’s bound to be on there.

Avatar Interactive Trailer

by Eric on November 25, 2009

The Avatar interactive trailer is up at AvatarMovie.com.  It gives you a pretty deep look into some of the characters and CG designs.  There are definitely a lot more spoilers inside the interactive trailer; however, it helps make a lot more sense of the rather busy TV trailers that have been airing lately.

In order to view the interactive version of the trailer, you’ll have to download and install the Adobe Air Avatar application.  No worries though – it installs with your browser open and you’re up and running in a minute or so.

The application also adds Avatar-related tweets, YouTube content and Flickr updates. You can read the PR-speak for yourself in the press release below. [click to continue…]
