I got my hands on the little Orbitix Sphero for a few minutes and if you like remote control toys and have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch this is a really cool toy for the home, office or just about anywhere. Using the iPhone to control the Sphero is quite easy. Basically, using a finger or thumb to control the interface on the Apple device is all there is to it and off it goes via Bluetooth. JVC has released a wad of new HD camcorders at CES including the Everio GZ-HM960 which features JVC’s new GT Lens, which is optimized for the large 1/2.3” back-illuminated CMOS sensor that aids in low light situations, plus a new image-processing engine, 3.5” full screen touch panel with 920k pixels, Advanced Image Stabilizer, and Bluetooth wireless technology for connection to wireless devices, such as smartphones, for synching videos and photos with Google Maps™. Adesso has created a keyboard and faux leather case combination for the iPad. The case offers protection and folds to a nice slim package for carrying and folds open to reveal a full keyboard with bluetooth connectivity, so there are no wire to deal with and according to Adesso the iPad and keyboard can be 30 feet apart. The keyboard features iPad and multimedia hotkeys, an on/off switch and a rechargable polymer battery. The keyboard is removable and the bluetooth connectivity makes pairing it with other enabled devices a breeze and is waterproof as well to protect from spills. The iPad, unfortunately, is not waterproof.

The JVC GZ-HM550 is a Full HD camcorder with a 10.6MP CMOS sensor and 32GB of internal flash memory. The HM550 also includes built-in Bluetooth technology that allows you to control the camcorder with a smartphone (cue iPhone app any minute now), and monitor the audio with a Bluetooth headseat, or even use a Bluetooth headset for voice recording.

Unvieling at CES 2010 in Las Vegas are 2 new GPS units the T70 (7 inch screen) and the T50 (5 inch screen) which are basic GPS units, but can be purchased with a range of options, including HD Radio, Live HD Traffic update, Bluetooth, WiFi, mobile TV, and black box.
BX1 – a Black Box for the car is Cydle’s solution to a eye-witness. The new Cydle BX1 continually updates every 30 seconds to keep a running video of events while driving. When the the BX1 takes a jolt it retains data from 15 seconds before an impact to 15 seconds after. The footage is saved to an SD Card, so you or law enforcement can take a look on a PC. The Cydle BX1 will be available in the United States in the first quarter of 2010 around $150.
Also, slated for release the first quarter of next year is Cydle’s new M7 Mobile Internet Device (MID.) The M7 functions as an Internet search appliance, a digital photo frame and multimedia player and incorporates HDMI support. Eight GB of memory comes standard, expandable to 16GB. The M7 is expected to come in around $200.
Cydle released a new GPS with built-in HD Radio and free live HD live trafic updates earlier this year. The T43H is the worlds first portable GPS with HD Radio built in. At the current price of $250 US dollars, that is not a bad deal considering you not only get the above mentioned, but also a rich media video player, audio player and picture viewer all displayed on a 4.3 inch screen. Of course the are no subscription fees of any kind.
