Cell phone hacking is in the headlines again, so it’s a good time to talk about safe mobile computing. We use our phones to send texts, emails, and even check our bank balances. Hopefully you are aware of how important it is to safeguard our home computers and laptops-from viruses and malware, but are you as conscientious when it comes to your daily mobile phone habits?

Sony CEO, Sir Howard Stringer, let slip that the company is making sensors for Apple, the manufacturing of which is being delayed due to the Japan earthquake. However, based on that little tidbit of news and other recent rumors, all signs point to a Sony backside-illuminated CMOS sensor in the iPhone 5 (whenever it arrives).
Frankly, I think this is pretty good news for the next iPhone. Sony has been knocking it out of the park lately with image quality – particularly so with its smaller compact cameras using the Sony Exmor R technology. If this trend continues with the next iPhone’s camera sensor, it should be a decent little pocket camera to carry around.

I bought an EVO 4G last week. Of course, news of the EVO 3D would leak out a couple of days later. And then today, we get photos and specs of the new phone. Pretty sure this is a record for me.
The EVO 3D will sport a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1080p HD 2D video, 720p HD 3D video, a 4.3″ display and dual 5MP cameras on the back (along with a front 1.3MP camera).
The EVO View 4G tablet will sport a 1.5GHz processor, 7″ 1024 x 600 resolution display and will basically be a rebranded version of the HTC Flyer.

Looks like the new DROID from Motorola has slipped out from underneath covers long enough for someone to snap some shots and send along to the gadgetry blogs. Notable things from the spy photos include a dedicated number row on the keyboard and an HDMI out port.

Looks like the next iPhone may come with a bigger display. According to DigiTimes, component suppliers for Apple are working off specs for a 4-inch display that will find its way into the iPhone 5.
The new iPhone will presumably launch in Summer 2011 with who-knows-what under the hood. For the time being though, it appears that the hood will be 4-inches.

T-Mobile has launched a teaser page that touts the first HSPA+ smartphone will be arriving on its network later this year. While previous rumors suggested that T-Mobile might be launching the Nokia N8, some code-sniffing from the BGR crew reveals that this teaser is most likely for the G1 Blaze (aka HTC Vision/Vanguard).
In areas where T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network is available, the G1 Blaze will theoretically support 14.4Mbps data transfers. The G1 Blaze is expected to come packed with a 3.7″ display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, QWERTY slider keyboard, trackpad and Android 2.2.
