Apple has updated the Mac Mini with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 320GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM for $699. The new Mac Mini also adds an HDMI port (woohoo), SD card slot, user-accessible RAM slots and features a unibody aluminum enclosure. Apple has updated the basic $999 MacBook with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (from 2.26GHz), NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics and a 10 hour battery life. The new MacBook still carries the same price tag and is available for purchase from the Apple store.
Of course, you could save $100 and get the previous model for $899.

Apple has update the MacBook Pro lineup with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, except for the 13″ MacBook Pro, which sticks with Intel Core 2 Duo processors with custom NVIDIA GeForce 320 integrated graphics.

LaCie has dropped some new eSATA-equipped hard drives to its ‘Rugged’ line. The eSATA connector allows for transfer speeds up to 90MB/s. The only model currently available is a 500GB version, which runs $159.99 retail.

Turtle Beach just announced a couple of new USB sound cards for Mac and PC. The new Amigo II USB card gives you a stereo output and mic input. The Micro II USB card gives you a stereo line out and an optical audio out, which allows you to add 5.1 surround or DTS surround on the most basic of computers.

Sadly, the CrunchPad is no more. There have been a lot of haters directing their spite toward either the product or Michael Arrington and, while I don’t agree with everything Arrington has to say, I was genuinely looking forward to this product.
As with many products and startups, fundamental differences in business partners’ ideas (and, perhaps a bit of greed) killed the CrunchPad.
