Walmart is rolling back prices on the Apple iPhone and iPad for the holidays.  Walmart has slashed prices on both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, with the 16 GB iPhone 5 now on sale for just $127 (was $189) and the iPhone 4S coming in at almost half price at $47 (was $87.97).  Of course a 2 year commitment is required at these prices.

Walmart is also selling the 4th generation iPad (16GB WiFi) at a $100 discount for $399.  Starting Monday a $30 iTunes gift card will be included will be included on iPads as a bonus.

It’s unclear why Walmart is offering such deep discounts except to attract shoppers and hopefully capitalize on impulse purchase.  Other retailers are also offering discounts such as Radio Shack, which also has a price match guarantee and may well match Walmart current pricing.
