Lenovo has announced six new laptops touting a business-centric platform and solid battery life.  The new T and W series ThinkPads spor Nvidia Optimus graphics, which allows switching between the performance mode and integrated graphics in order to take full advantage of that headlining battery life. Additionally, every new model has the option to use an 80GB SSD boot drive, with the W520 getting RAID options.

Pricing for the new ThinkPads are as follows:

  • ThinkPad T420s: $1,399
  • ThinkPad T420: $1029
  • ThinkPad T520: $999
  • ThinkPad L420: $899
  • ThinkPad L520: $899
  • ThinkPad W520: $1,529

All the new models should be available in March.

At CES, Lenovo has introduced a slick little dual mode netbook / tablet combination dubbed the LePad Slate.  Switch between Window 7 and Android 2.2operating systems using the functionality of a laptop and the portability of a tablet when on the go.

The U1 version sports the Intel CULV processor and when in tablet mode a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor runs the show with seamless on the fly switching from tablet to CPU.  Pricing for the Lepad Slate begins at $520 and with the U1 base a $1,300 price tag is set.  More in the press release after the break. Lenovo has knocked out the worlds first hybrid notebook the IdeaPad U1 at CES 2010.  IdeaPad U1  embodies two totally separate stand alone devices rolled into one.

The IdeaPad U1 is really more of a netbook size with a screen size at 11.6 inches, but weighs in at a hefty 3.8lbs.  The system boasts an HD LED screen and runs Windows 7.  The two separate devices are said to function seamlessly when connected together and when disjointed processes are uninterrupted.

Release the1.6 pound multitouch screen from the top cover panel and the IdeaPad U1 becomes a handheld slate tablet device with a powerful ARM processor, running Lenovo’s customized Skylight operating system and 3G wireless capabilites.

Lenovo Mobile Solutions

Lenovo has punched out some new notebooks at an affordable price.  Starting with their Thinkpad Edge, Lenovo is amping up style offering heat-wave red to the already popular color of black.  These new machines feature a choice of AMD processors (Turion X2 and Athlon X2), a high res. camera and optional 3G and 4G wireless.

The X100e is Lenovo’s first professional-grade ultraportable starting below $500. The ThinkPad X100e is perfect for customers looking for a PC that is professional for business, highly usable and highly mobile. Like the ThinkPad Edge, the X100e includes a choice of AMD processors (Turion X2 and Athlon X2). The X100e also features an 11.6 inch high definition display and an ISO full-size keyboard with a multitouch touchpad and Trackpoint for easy navigation.

 

Lenovo introduced four new models to the classic ThinkPad line including the T410s, T410, T510 and W510- Lenovo’s best-selling and highest performance-oriented mobile PCs.
