Cyber Monday LCD TV Deals

by Eric on November 29, 2010

Looking for an HDTV deal on Cyber Monday?

First, I would check the Cyber Monday Lightning Deals Page to see if you get lucky on one of the deals rolling out.  If you aren’t familiar with Amazon’s Lightning Deals, you’ll see regularly updated and expiring deals that are usually well below everyday prices and are only available in limited quantities, which means they sell out rather quickly on the good deals.

UPDATED:  Amazon’s Cyber Monday Gold Box Deal is a Vizio 47″ 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV for $599.99 while it lasts.

If you miss out on the Lightning Deals or you just don’t see the right deal, then consider the following Cyber Monday TV deals from Amazon and B&H Photo/Video. [click to continue…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab Reviews

by Eric on November 9, 2010

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is an Android-powered tablet that features a 7-inch touch screen display, a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and 3G connectivity.  While Steve Jobs has dismissed the 7-inch Android tablet genre as a fad, there is a lot of buzz surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Tab as the first bit Android-powered tablet, which is headed to all major cell carriers.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

The first batch of reviews for the Galaxy Tab are out.  I’ve collated several reviews below and will attempt to update this list as additional, relevant reviews roll in. [click to continue…]

Samsung HMX-U20 Compact Camcorder Review

by Joe on September 30, 2010

I’ve been spending some time with the Samsung MemoryCAM HMX-U20 1080 HD  compact camcorder / pocket camcorder and, honestly, when I initially opened the camera and took it out of the box I was not to fired up about it.  Once I charged the battery and began to see the little cameras abilities and user friendliness my attitude toward it became more positive.  The MemoryCAM is not without flaws, but it is quite a solid performer and holds a good value at a decent price in my opinion. Samsung Mobile and AT&T are going to let the new Samsung Sunburst and Samsung Strive start flying off the Shelves on March 21st.

The Sunburst is a touchscreen smartphone with a full 3 inch display.  The design is futuristic and sleek set in black and a touch of chrome (or possibly silver as it appears in the above image).  It will do all the cool smartphone stuff like email, web surfing, and social networking.  It has a a virtual keyboard to make full use of the touchscreen capabilities and a 2.0 megapixel camera / camcorder.  Two megapixels seems a little measly for a smartphone in this day and age.

The Samsung Sunburst will only set you back $39.99 if you’ll agree to a two year contract with AT&T.

The Strive is a slider with a full QWERTY keyboard.  This one will not only come in the black and silver color pattern, but also purple and charcoal.

The Strive will be the first device from AT&T to offer three new mobile services the company announced today: a new group messaging service, AT&T Mobile Share and AT&T Address Book.

The Samsung Strive with a two year AT&T contract will only run $19.99.

I should mention that the discounted price comes in the form of a $50 AT&T Promotion Card.  Add $50 back to the promotion price if you don’t want the contract.  Learn a little more in the press release after the break. [click to continue…]
